GIPHY, the provider of a database and search engine for animated GIFs, has announced a new SDK that provides third-parties access to GIFs, stickers, and additional new content like GIPHY Emoji and Text. With this release, the company hopes to accelerate integration for third-party app developers.
The announcement claims that application developers can add GIPHY functionality with just a few lines of code. Through integration, developers gain access to content from the company’s tens of thousands of official content partners. The database includes what the company describes as an “infinite library of GIFs and stickers.” Additionally, GIPHY search functionality aims to allow users to easily find the perfect content for any situation.
The SDK offers several pre-built options for customizable templates offered in both dark and light UI varieties. Allowing for more seamless integration into app aesthetics. The announcement also highlighted that various new features and content will only be available to developers through the SDK. These features include animated GIPHY Emoji and Text. Developers using the SDK will also gain access to new formats and content drops in the future.
