Google has announced updates to the Cloud Text-to-Speech APITrack this API that will provide developers with 12 new languages/variants as well as 76 new voices. The API now includes 95 WaveNet voices, which the company claims are far more natural-sounding.
Google indicated that the value behind WaveNet voices, which are created using neural-net technology that results in a more convincing presentation, is an improved experience for end-users. The company hopes that this improved experience will benefit developers interacting with the API.
Developers hoping to get started using the API should check out the example UI provided by Google. The API is free to use up to the first million characters processed.
