Google Releases API for its Display & Video 360 Marketing Platform

Display & Video 360 is Google’s consolidated marketing Platform that helps marketers manage their campaigns across display, video, TV, audio, etc., all in one place. The platform is designed to increase productivity in collaborative environments and simplify marketing data visualization through consolidation.

The primary benefit of the new Display & Video 360 API is Asynchronous Structured Data File (SDF) download functionality. This feature allows users to download large SDFs without running into issues with API requests timing out. For this reason, Google is urging developers to migrate to this API from the previously recommended DoubleClick Bid Manager (DBM) API.

Additionally, the API follows a new default logic for versioning that “utilizes the default version of the partner or advertiser specified by the user.” Users also gain enhanced filtering capabilities, allowing for better control over specific resources when generating files. It is also worth noting that this API will return generated SDFs as a ZIP. file that can be downloaded, rather than JSON.

The aforementioned Display Video 360 API is expected to be deprecated soon. Make sure to check back for details on that in the future.
