HERE Technologies Moves Its XYZ Mapping Platform to General Availability

HERE Technologies, a provider of mapping technology and services, has announced that its XYZ Platform will move into general availability. HERE XYZ is designed to provide end-to-end support for developers that are working on map publication and data management.

The platform was first announced back in 2018, when ProgrammableWeb first covered the news, and has remained in beta since that time. HERE XYZ is a cloud-based service and provides APIs for location data management that includes HERE Places (Search)Track this API, HERE TrafficTrack this API, and HERE RoutingTrack this API. The company outlined the product offering by stating that:

“HERE XYZ is included as part of the market-leading HERE Freemium developer plan, offering users generous entitlements for data transfer and database storage and seamless Integration of HERE Location Services APIs such as geocoding, routing, search and more to build full-featured, location-aware applications. Developers can invoke the XYZ Hub API directly or via the HERE Command Line Interface (HERE CLI). Non-developers can use the XYZ Studio to invoke the same XYZ Hub API but using an intuitive web application.”

The ProgrammableWeb directory includes over 1000 Mapping APIs
