Livefyre Gets People Talking

For a long time the comment section on any webpage was nothing more than internet real estate about to be foreclosed on. Plagued by spammers, pointless shout-outs, and unreal amounts of bickering, most users chose to forgo perusing what was once a land of potential user interaction. Livefyre, a designer of Dynamic comment platforms, is working hard at ushering commenting into the promised land, with the Livefyre API to help get us there.

The goal is to stimulate quality discussion by pulling relevant content from social media platforms and posting it within the comments section on an existing webpage. Imagine a place where opinions pass fluidly between worlds that used to be separated by a chasm of web space. Livefyre helps to bring those worlds together.

The API lets users create their own community and revenue-generating widgets. Data returned by the API includes: comments, conversations, active profiles, site resources and more.

Some Livefyre features:

  • Real-Time Chat and Replies
  • Checking in to Comments
  • Ban abusive users
  • Multiple comment moderators and owners
  • Email notification of new comments and replies

The Livefyre API would be useful for anyone that is looking to expand the capabilities of their websites current comment system. The API uses RESTful calls and responses are formatted in JSON.

The Livefyre API is one of 628 social APIs in our directory.
