Microsoft Launches Azure Quota API for Service Limit Management

Microsoft has moved the Azure Quota REST API into general availability, allowing developers to utilize the Resource to better manage service limits on the Platform. In addition to quota management, the API can also be used to request service increases.

The announcement of general availability noted the value, more broadly, of this new API:

“Currently, you can use Quota API for managing quotas for Azure virtual machines (cores/vCPU) and Azure Machine Learning services programmatically. You can get current quota limits, current usage, and request quota increases by subscription, resource provider, resource name, and location.”

It is important that developers remember that when working with quotas standards are specific to regions. Users will be required to request quotas individually for each region that they want to deploy in.
