MuleSoft recently announced the next update to the company’s Anypoint Platform, providing organizations with new tools designed to help build collaborative ecosystems for API developers and partners. With the debut of Anypoint API Community Manager, MuleSoft has brought together a collection of resources that will enable users to build customized digital experiences that promote API products and support API ecosystems.
API Community Manager provides users with a full-featured API portal, API management functionality, and custom digital experience capabilities that are designed to improve the way that teams collaborate throughout an API program’s lifecycle. This new tool is designed to be highly customizable, allowing developer experiences to be personalized based on the API consumer’s needs. API Community Manager also provides forums, chat functionality, and case management tools that are designed to increase engagement between developers, partners, and employees. Additionally, this offering provides engagement analytics tools, allowing customers to track API program business metrics, including cost savings and revenue generated.
Mark Dao, MuleSoft’s chief product officer, notes that this release is an important step toward:
...providing companies with both the product and organizational capabilities to easily build and engage API ecosystems so they can innovate faster and deliver business value together with their partners and developers.
This announcement also highlights an increased commitment to providing customers with a packaged approach to API strategy that is based on the company’s experience working with more than 1,700 organizations globally. Through MuleSoft Catalyst, the company provides customers with access to best practices, training, and customer success programs that are intended to provide users with a clear path toward success in what the company describes as "API-led connectivity". With this announcement these consultative offerings have been expanded to include a “guided approach to establishing an API strategy, from planning API programs and creating a foundation for a digital business to building a digital platform and measuring the value of integration and APIs.”
