Mobile Application Developers are a wanted lot. AT&T has announced its annual mobile application contest and is inviting developers to submit and win a chance for prize money and an opportunity to get your application across on AT&T Network, which has a subscriber base of 95 million customers.
The Open Call Contest requires participants to submit their mobile applications in any of the 4 categories: Gaming, HTML5, Social Good and an “Open” category. You can only submit a single entry for the contest and hence you can enter your application in only one category. The winning applications in each category stand to win $10,000 in cash prize along with promotion opportunities on the AT&T network.
The contest is split into two phases. The first phase, where you need to submit your application ends on March 1 (so hurry up!). A Panel of judges will then short list the Eight best applications of the lot. The shortlisted applications will need to make a trip to CTIA Wireless 2011, being held March 22–24 in Orlando, FL and present their application to AT&T staff and experts. The top 4 winning applications in each category will then be selected by the panel. Take a look at full contest terms and conditions.
With the surge in applications in the iOS and Android marketplaces, developer contests like the Open Call Contest present a great opportunity to developers to showcase and market their applications.
