Oracle Launches API Platform Cloud Service

Oracle recently announced the availability of its new Oracle API Platform Cloud Service. The API platform extends the company's cloud integration capabilities. With a goal of delivering "... capabilities for designing, prototyping, documenting, testing, and managing the proliferation of critical APIs," Oracle integrated existing Oracle tools with capabilities gained through its recent Apiary acquisition.

"Data is the new corporate currency and APIs are critical to business modernization and agility, enabling users to easily connect and share key information across applications and devices--mobile, IoT, in the cloud or on-premises," Oracle Cloud Platform SVP, Amit Zavery, commented in a press release.

The platform was designed in hopes of decreasing the complexity that can be involved with moving on-premise API solutions to a cloud environment. Users can choose from several interface designs, each looking to meet the needs of specific audiences throughout an organization.
