project44, transportation information solution provider, has announced its new rail visibility API. Through the API, manufacturers and retailers alike gain end to end tracking capability of rail shipments across US and Canadian rail networks. The API provides both real-time and historical data reviews.
project44 aims to bring a new level of visibility in four major modes of transportation (i.e. LTL, volume LTL, full truckload, and rail). Just last month, project44 launched a truckload visibility API. project44 CTO, Mike Reed, describes how the project44 technology suite aims to serve customers across the various modes of transportation, and the rail visibility API helps realize this goal:
"Our advanced reporting, exception management, and notification architecture has been designed for multimodal consumption and now incorporates rail as a fourth mode of transportation, empowering our customers with the most accurate information about where their shipments are and when they will get to where they are supposed to be."
The API is RESTful and easily integrates with users' existing third party systems. While documentation is not publicly available, users with access benefit from onboarding and support including Swagger API documentation, Java and C# SDKs, sample code, and a runtime sandbox for testing.
