Appy Pie adds 3 New APIs to Mobile App Builder
Appy Pie, the cloud based mobile apps builder that allows anyone to build iOS and Android apps is betting on APIs to help extend the reach of applications built using their tools. They announced support for Radio, Camera & Geolocation APIs to help users add multimedia and location capabilities to their applications. Appy Pie tools have seen a good adoption among users and with more than 950 apps built in just 3 months. Abhinav Girdhar, CEO at Appy Pie said "Every day we receive many requests for adding new API's so it becomes imperative for us to continuously add them to our platform, next in our pipeline is appointment Scheduler API that will empower Doctors, Dentists, Salons, lawyers & Other Small & Medium Enterprises to take appointments using their App."
SmartClip Bags Top Honors In 2013 SmartFile Platform Bake-Off
SmartFile, a business file sharing & FTP hosting platform has announced the winners of the Platform Bake-Off contest. The contest invited Indiana college students to build applications on top of the SmartFile API over a period of 50 days. There were 9 finalists selected after a 24-hour Bake-off to help the students finalize the applications. The Grand Prize winner was the team of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) students Ani Chan and Manpreet Singh, who wrote SmartClip, a Google Chrome extension that clips sections of websites and saves them for future viewing. The second prize went to SmartBox, an iOS App to manage your files. For more details, check out the results page.
