Today in APIs: Bella Field Integrates with SugarCRM, Jawbone Opens Access to Up API, and 8 New APIs

Bella Field Service Software creates API for SugarCRM. Jawbone's API for Up now accessible. Plus: Apiary secures funding, eight ways to use Instagram's API, and 8 new APIs.

API from Bella Field Service Software Integrates with SugarCRM

Bella Solutions, maker of field service software for small businesses, has announced an API to integrate SugarCRM's capabilities.

The field service software already has a vast range of features, broken into several categories of job management, scheduling optimization, proposals, reporting, mobile, and more. According to the press release, the API will vastly expand the feature set available to Bella customers:

“We’re thrilled to help our customers easily integrate with SugarCRM, one of the fastest-growing customer relationship management companies in the world,” explained John Linn, CEO of Bella Solutions. “By enabling seamless Integration with this popular, full-featured CRM solution, we notably improve operational efficiencies – eliminating redundant data entry along with the associated potential for error.” SugarCRM provides calendaring, call center, email, project management, and reporting features, accessible via any web-enabled computer or mobile device, for numerous Bella customers.

A vital tool in the field for improving productivity, customer satisfaction and communication, Bella Solutions' technology also has built in tools to support developers looking to use the API.

API for Jawbone's Up Now Open Access

Jawbone, maker of the bracelet to track things like sleep and distance walked each day, has thrown open the doors on its API. The company joins a crowded field from Nike Fuelband to Runkeeper, who also have APIs for developers.

As Gigaom's Ki Mae Heussner reports, access was restricted at the beginning:

"At its initial launch, Jawbone only gave API access to 10 partners, including MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, Withings and IFTTT. It enabled a startup like RunKeeper, for example, to let users log a run in that app and then view the data in UP’s app or use a Withings scale and then monitor their weight through UP."

Additional features are promised in the near future.
