Close on the heels of Intel buying Mashery, comes the news that another API Management vendor has been acquiredLayer 7, a provider of API Management and Security services for cloud and on-premise has been acquired by CA Technologies. The press release states that the acquisition of Layer 7 will enable CA Technologies to manage and secure the API marketplace with leading technology that complements its current Identity and Access Management suite.

Mobile Messaging Platform Spotbros Launches API

Spotbros, the popular messaging application has launched its API to extend the reach of its platform beyond just users communicating with each other. The API enables developers to create applications dubbed SBApps that the users can interact with via the familiar messaging interface. Since its launch over a year ago, Spotbros currently has 2 million registered users sending 2 million messages per day and more than 70% of its users are based in Spain.
