TrueLayer Expands Banking API to Germany

TrueLayer, banking API provider, has announced that it is expanding the geographic scope of its Data APITrack this API to include Germany. Starting this month, January 2019, TrueLayer will add select partners to a private beta of the Germany Data API. This is TrueLayer's first major international expansion beyond the UK.

"We are proud to be building a presence in Germany; a country that has long understood the value of opening up access to banking data with one of the most open banking infrastructures in the world," TrueLayer's Vedika Jain, commented in a company blog post. "Since we started working on expanding our coverage there, our team has believed that Germany embodies a collaborative outlook between banks, third-parties and consumers that serves as an example for the world."

The goal of the TrueLayer platform is give banks and developers access to create bank-data enabled apps. Examples of use cases include account verification (known your customer), personal finance management, lending, rental/real-estate, and much more. TrueLayer now offers access to data from over 2000 banks.

Currently the Germany Data API is open via invite only. To request an invite, apply here. TrueLayer anticipates opening a public beta for the Germany Data API in March 2019. Additional countries on the roadmap include France, Italy, and Spain.
