"Every day, movies expire from Netflix Watch Instantly," Twitter's Robin Sloan tweeted. So, the one-time Current TV online strategist decided to do something about it. Using the Netflix API, he wrote a program to find the movies that are about to expire. Then, he tweets them out from @queuenoodle, an account that has already hit nearly 4,000 followers in a day.
Naturally, we assume Sloan also used the Twitter API to fully automate the process. It's a truly simple idea that is incredibly useful. While we're unsure whether Netflix likes to promote how often its instant options change, @queuenoodle's functionality would be perfectly suited for the Instant Netflix Twitter account and its more than 100,000 followers.
What about tweeting eBay items about to expire at less than 10% of the average sale price of such items?
Or tweeting flights that have just got lower in price?
