Walgreens has announced that a number of updates are coming soon to the company’s API Platform. The company plans on rolling out feature enhancements and new APIs by the end of January 2018. Among the platform updates are the addition of a Store Number List Endpoint to the Store Locator API, the launch of the new Add To Cart API (beta), and backend upgrades to the HTML Checkout Photo Prints API.
The Walgreens Store Locator API provides dynamic store location information for all Walgreens and Duane Reade store locations. Walgreens has more than 8,100 store locations in the United States and U.S. territories. The new Store Number List Endpoint allows third-party applications to retrieve a list of all the store numbers for all active Walgreens stores.
The new beta version Walgreens Add To Cart API allows third-party application users to add products to a Walgreens.com cart quickly and then proceed to checkout via Walgreens.com. The company also provides a Digital Offers API that allows third-party app users to clip Walgreens coupons. Developers can integrate these two API with applications to provide an interactive retail shopping experience powered by Walgreens.com.
The Walgreens HTML Checkout Photo Prints API has been converted to a NodeJS backend which the company says should provide faster loading and an improved experience for mobile users. The Walgreens HTML Checkout Photo Prints API provides a way for third-party mobile app customers to print photos from their mobile devices and then pick up the prints at their preferred Walgreens store.
Walgreens offers a number of APIs including (but not limited to) Pharmacy Prescription Refill and Transfer, Balance Rewards, Photo Prints, and Store Locator. For more information about the Walgreens API platform, visit https://developer.walgreens.com.
