Visa has announced that it will expand The Everywhere Initiative to Australia and New Zealand. The Everywhere Initiative is a challenge where startups utilize Visa APIs to enhance products and deliver more robust commerce experiences. Visa first launched the challenge in the US in 2015. Since then, the challenge expanded to China and is now headed to Australia and New Zealand.
Visa has posed three challenges for participants to choose from: the consumer, commercial, and the everyone/everywhere challenges. The consumer challenge prompts startups to pitch and develop innovative ideas that improve consumer experiences through the use of Visa APIs. The commercial challenge asks startups to create solutions that improve small business, enterprise, and public sector experiences. The everyone/everywhere challenge offers the opportunity for startups to develop solutions that deliver frictionless payment experiences for consumers with disabilities.
Registration for the latest edition of The Everywhere Challenge opened yesterday (August 2, 2016). Participants can submit responses through August 26th. Visa will invite three finalists per challenge to pitch day in Sydney. Visa's partner KITE will help finalists perfect their pitches to present on September 22nd in Sydney.
The winner of each challenge will receive AUD $15,000. Additionally, Visa will select an overall winner to receive AUD $50,000 and run a pilot with Visa. Finally, the audience members at pitch day will choose a People's Choice prize for an AUD $5,000 award. For those interested, register here and submit challenge responses here.
