Vodafone India, India's leading telecommunications service provider, has launched appStar 2014. appStar 2014 offers brands, e-tailers, app developers, and more the opportunity to show off API skills through app development that utilize Vodafone's network APIs. Participants can submit apps in one of five categories: Gaming, Utility, Health, Education and App for Good.
Vodafone India launched appStar 2014 as a follow up to the successful appStar 2013, which attracted over 3000 developer registrations and 1500 app submissions. The developer contest is open to apps across multiple platforms (i.e. Android, Windows Phone, iOS, J2ME, Blackberry). The domestic competition will continue through November 30th. Winners have the opportunity to win Rs. 50,000 in each category, and participate in the international competition.
APIs available for use for the competition include carrier billing API, Location API, and messaging API. Vodafone is searching for a global app champion to effectively leverage Vodafone APIs and build new customer value.To learn more, visit the appStar site and register to participate.
In addition to cash prizes, the grand prize winner will have the opportunity to attend the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next March in Barcelona, Spain. The opportunity to present at one of the world's largest mobility events offers developers the possibility of recognition on a worldwide level.
