World Weather Online Launches Ski and Mountain API

World Weather Online, global weather forecast content provider, has added to its already impressive suite of weather APIs: World Weather Ski and Mountain API. World Weather Online content is already incorporated into many websites and apps. Its Ski and Mountain API is directly targeted at those needing ski-specific conditions information. Metrics such as chance of snow, snowfall, precipitation, wind speed, and other conditions specifically targeted at a viewer with plans to head for the slopes are readily available through the new API.

World Weather Online has a host of APIs that are useful for almost any site or app in need of weather data. From free plans with basic weather information, to premium plans that add features such as location search, World Weather Online is a developer's one stop shop for weather forecast content. The Ski and Mountain API sits in the free category, but users have a Mountain and Ski premium option.

The Ski and Mountain API uses REST protocol and can return data in a host of data formats: XML, JSON, JSON-P. API calls return different weather related data: chance of snow, total snowfall amount, temperature, precipitation (rainfall), weather description, weather icon, wind speed, and more. Information is available in 3, 6, 12, and 24-hour intervals. For more information, visit the developer site.

Weather affects everybody, weather folks spend their days inside our out. Snow skiers can have a day ruined or escalated based on the weather forecast. If you provide content for the snow ski community, or sell gear to the ski community, certainly check out World Weather Online's latest API. Keep an eye out for more APIs to come from World Weather Online (e.g. Premium Marine API due out late October).
