Yieldex, the online ad inventory forecasting and optimization start-up, has won the second annual Amazon Web Services Start-Up Challenge. As grand prize winner, Yieldex receives US $50,000 in cash and $50,000 in AWS service credits, along with the possibility of an investment offer from Amazon. "Visibility Delivered" is Yieldex's motto; by winning perhaps the biggest web services start-up competition, they've certainly delivered visibility for themselves.

Amazon's Start-up Challenge wasn't easy to win. It started in early September, with a call for entries, and Yieldex was forced to overcome hundreds of applicants to take the top prize. From the list of applicants, Amazon chose just seven to fly to Amazon headquarters and present their ideas in front of a panel of judges for 10 minutes.
Winning the grand prize shows that Yieldex has a strong product that utilizes Amazon Web Services APIs in innovative ways. Yieldex built their DynamicIQ platform
on top of Amazon Web Services, using the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) and the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) to address online publishers' growing need for accurate forecasting of overlapping inventory, optimal campaign allocation and revenue operations. Yieldex tools help publishers maximize advertising revenue from their premium inventory with in-depth proposal analysis, scenario planning, and their proprietary yield index.
