Real estate and rental marketplace Zillow has been providing third-party apps and websites with access to its valuation and property data for a while now. In an effort to provide even more of this content for websites and apps that want to use it, the company has extended its API network. The Neighborhood GetDemographics API is one of these additions.
Zillow's Neighborhood Data includes information such as neighborhood and city affordability statistics and demographic data. It also includes lists of counties, cities, ZIP codes and neighborhoods, as well as the latitude and longitude data for these areas.
The GetDemographics API returns a set of market, affordability, real estate and demographic data for a specific area, providing information such as median list price, number of homes for sale, Zillow home value index, percentage of owners and renters, median household income, median age, average household size, who lives there and what's unique about those people. In addition, there are other API calls of interest on the Neighborhood Data side, including GetRegionChildren and GetRegionChart.
The GetDemographics API is just one in a whole network of Zillow's data-rich APIs — great news for anyone in the property game. With Zillow's commitment to providing its customers with data, inspiration, detailed knowledge and basically everything they need to know about their homes, odd are the information is relevant and fresh. Those who are interested can find further information and API documentation on Zillow's website.
