GitHub today unveiled Teletype for Atom, a new tool that aims to make real-time social coding much easier. Atom is a free, open-source text editor that GitHub first released in 2014. With Teletype, which is currently in beta, developers anywhere in the world can collaborate without latency.
mBLAST has enhanced its mPACT API product in an attempt to target the academic community. Virtual-Strategy.com tells us that the new feature, titled mPACT API PhD,
"Is designed to provide discovery, scoring and analytics across traditional and social media for academic administrators and faculty alike, providing solutions to assist in faculty recruitment and assessment, in development and in alumni engagement."
The enhancement allows academic institutions to search for scholarly material presented by academics in non-traditional venues (e.g. blogs, social media, etc.).
The humongous amount of data that Twitter generates daily, is spawning a new breed of company that is analyzing the data and providing value-added services on it. While the data mining and intelligence applications are still in their infancy, there are interesting applications that you can use today.
