Quandl, a company that launched a search engine for numerical data in January 2013, plans on introducing a brand new uploading tool in early 2014 which will make it possible for users to upload their own datasets to the Quandl platform. In February of this year, the Toronto-based company launched the Quandl API which provides programmatic access to every single dataset available on Quandl.
PollDaddy, one of the most popular online poll and survey creation services, recently opened their new API to the public. The basic PollDaddy service provides free accounts for creating polls and surveys, or a Pro upgrade that eliminates sponsored links and allows higher numbers of survey responses than the free version. Millions of small businesses use QuickBooks for accounting and invoicing, but for many a view of customer data ends there. A partnership between QuickBooks maker Intuit and enterprise software-as-a-service company Salesforce looks to bring more insights to small business customers. To connect the seemingly disparate worlds in which the companies operate, they're using their APIs, namely the Intuit Data Service API.
