Collecta, a real-time search engine that allowed users to query across a variety of sources, has changed directions and suspended its service. The Collecta API, which drove a significant amount of queries to the Collecta search engine, will be unavailable come February 11.
According to software engineer Stein Magnus Jodal, the developer behind the open-source music server, Mopidy, online music streaming company Spotify poorly managed its libspotify SDK and APIs, resulting in broken hardware and software applications that relied on the Spotify platform.
