Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an experimental Connected Vehicles API for developers, the first for the Daimler-owned automaker. Through the API, developers can have access to telematics data, such as a vehicle's location, tire pressure and fuel levels, as well as a variety of vehicle data.
Fifteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Finance, Data Mining, and Artificial Intelligence. Highlights today include an API for automobile diagnostics and an API from NCI for cancer research clinical trials. Here's a look at what is new.
Panasonic has announced a facial recognition API under its μSockets B2B IoT service. Although Panasonic has built a strong portfolio of facial recognition technology over the years, it has never provided access to the developer community at large through an API. It is currently available in Japan.
