Twilio, which provides a cloud API for voice and SMS communications, has announced a price reduction for all incoming and outgoing SMS. The blog post announced that with immediate effect, all incoming and outgoing SMS will be charged $0.02 per message, a reduction of 33% from the original $0.03 per message. The new pricing is applicable for both existing and new customers of Twilio.
Telephony platform Twilio has a long running developer contest, giving Netbooks and Twilio credit to the winners. Recently it had a special contest, in which the winners could meet with Union Square Ventures partners for lunch. The winner of the contest is Asthmapolis, a site that helps track, manage and research asthma.
At a company event in San Francisco yesterday, Microsoft launched the highly anticipated Windows Phone 8. Chris Velazco of TechCrunch was in attendance at the event, and reported that in addition to the launch of the new Windows Phone, Microsoft announced that the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 will be available for developers to download October 30, 2012.
