There's more to our existence than we may be aware. The day we were born marks the date of other interesting and important events around the world, and it would be really cool to find out every bit of trivia surrounding a specific date at the click of a button. DayDetails is a free web service that allows the user to type in a specific date and find out all the recorded facts regarding that date. The site also provides the RESTful DayDetails API that allows developers to request specific date details.
With thousands of distinct languages in the modern world, it would be impossible to be able to identify them all by simply looking at them in a text document. In cases where it is necessary to know what language a website, text document or file is written in, having a handy deciphering tool would be key. WhatLanguage does just that. Simply put, it's a language detection web service. WhatLanguage's API makes this functionality available to developers who may want to integrate it with other applications or create new applications.
Salesforce has introduced a new Apex Metadata API for Force.com to help developers build self-configuring applications, upgrade scripts, and custom set-up user interfaces. The API allows applications to enable capabilities such as retrieve metadata synchronously and set up a callback on completion.
