After three years of work, Rustici Software and partners are happy to announce that the Tin Can API version 1.0 will officially launch April 26, 2013. Tin Can constitutes an "experience API" that enables data collection from a wide range of sources. The API collects data from human interactions with each other, technology, and groups and can standalone or integrate with a learning management system (LMS).
An independent, open source platform aimed at making it easier for governments and businesses to publish open data has released a new version of their API. The CKAN API allows access to catalog listings of open datasets, full-text searches, and sharing of statistics on open data usage.
Parasoft, maker of the SOAtest API testing tool, announced a number of enhancements to the tool. A thin client interface, enhanced workflows, and Shift-left performance testing headline the updates. The overarching goal of the updates is to provide quicker, broader access to data.
