Alcatel-Lucent, a leading global communications solutions provider and the parent company of ProgrammableWeb, has introduced a suite of nine "New Conversation APIs" that provide developers with easy access to IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) capabilities such as high definition voice and video, audio/video conferencing, interactive voice, messaging and call control. In addition, Alcatel-Lucent has launched a Developer Portal that allows access to the New Conversation APIs and a sandbox for developers to build and test their applications.
Sendbird recently added voice and video functionality for its in-app chat feature, now the company is announcing that the APIs that make this possible are HIPAA compliant. Additionally, Sendbird Desk, the company’s embeddable support feature for chat, social, and video has also achieved compliance.
When the Netflix API turns three in October, it will also be making some big changes. With a focus on the quickly growing streaming service, Netflix will remove access to its DVD-related API calls. That means any websites or mobile apps that help organize your DVD queue will switch to only providing results that are available on its Netflix Instant streaming service.
