Collaboration company 37Signals bought the popular Ember iPhone app, which uses the company's Campfire API (our Campfire API profile) to display and update chats. The app has been renamed 37Signals Campfire and is now available for free (previously $9.99).
Line has released two new APIs that enable the messaging platform to better engage users without leaving the app. The Messaging API allows three new message types for chatbots to use. Line Notify allows third party services to send information to Line users directly within the Line platform.
Two months ago TokBox gave up 2 million users to focus on its TokBox OpenTok API. The former video chat site instead wanted to make it easy for everyone to add video chat to their sites. The platform now has over 80 partners and is seeing great interest amongst developers. Today the company announced a move into making its video chat available on mobile devices.
