With the formal launch this week of the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud a new era of in-memory computing is about to become a lot more accessible. According to Professor Hasso Plattner, chairman of the SAP supervisory board, HANA in the cloud will give IT organizations access to a platform that essentially eliminates the need for batch processing in favor of a model where all applications are run in real time.
API management platform and enterprise software architecture specialists SOA Software have announced a new partnership with digital commerce specialists Elastic Path, aimed at supporting enterprises to improve their digital sales funnels with the help of APIs. The tension that has been building for months between Amazon and supporters of the OpenStack cloud computing framework is finally starting to boil over. This week Hewlett-Packard announced that it will no longer support the Amazon Web Services API on the public cloud computing service it unfurled earlier this week. According to a statement released to ProgrammableWeb by by Roger Levy, vice president and general manager for HP Public Cloud, the issue comes down to Amazon’s ongoing effort to lock customers into a proprietary API.
