Single Page Web Applications, Javascript and the Proliferation of APIs
In a post over at PandoDaily last week there was some discussion about the trend towards Single Page Web Applications (SPAs) that seems to be emerging especially for SAAS Web Applications (see Zendesk's great post on Techcrunch last week). Single Page Web Apps are just starting to gain currency, but may end up playing a major role in API adoption since they essentially eliminate the need for “page based” navigation within an application. Instead, SPAs rely on a combination of an API and Javascript to create the user experience. NIST's AppVet Tests Apps for Government Use
The National Institue of Standards and Technology (NIST), has created created AppVet. AppVet is an open-source tool that IT groups can use to test applications for use on government networks. AppVet was designed to easily integrate with third party apps and tools (e.g. antivirus software, analyzers, vulnerability repositories, etc.) through simple APIs.
TeleSign's App Verify Simplifies User Verification and Onboarding
TeleSign has greatly enhanced the iOS SDK for its App Verify service. The SDK allows app developers to handle verification completely in the background without multiple steps required for an onboarding user. By simply entering a phone number, the app exchanges with the phone for verification.
