The hackathon we are co-hosting at the Woodstock for Cloud Developers is only a week away. It's not too early to start thinking about the application you might build using partner APIs. And with Hackathon registration opening soon, you might also think about who to invite to join your team. Earlier this week Amazon announced that a number of Oracle products are now available on Amazon Web Services (AWS). If you are not familiar with AWS, these are a set of pay-as-you-go services (such as virtual servers and data storage) that together form a computing platform “in the cloud."
There’s no doubt that an application becomes exponentially more valuable as the number of data sources it connects to increases. The challenge is managing that process. While the rise of application programming interfaces that make it simpler to invoke another application has dramatically increased the usefulness of application software, trying to manually manage that process via a series of point-to-point connections winds up being overly cumbersome.
