Mobile messaging, a technology that is often associated with smartphones, is now being more broadly applied within the enterprise. Application of this technology is increasing in areas typically dominated by legacy instant messaging applications. One providers of such a service is HeyWire Business, which today launched a channel partner program designed to reward partners that leverage the company's API.
Facebook is partnering with cloud hosting service Heroku to make Facebook application deployment more plug-and-play. The new service likely uses the Heroku API to allow developers to instantly have a basic Facebook app running in minutes instead of hours or days. Facebook's app wizard lets you choose from Heroku's supported languages, then pre-populates an app with working examples of common tasks using the Facebook API.
TiKL, maker of mobile apps Talkray and Touch to Talk, has announced the Talkray API that allows developers to integrate Talkray functionality with third party apps and platforms. The Talkray API enables one on one or group chat, group calls, push notifications, file transfer, and more in a cloud based platform. Although the API can integrate with a wide variety of apps, TiKL expects the largest group of adopters to come from the gaming industry. Accordingly, the API was announced at this year's Game Developers Conference.
