Intuit has announced the release of several new resources for developers to integrate desktop applications with web-based applications. The new Intuit App Center allows QuickBooks users to access third party web applications developed with the Intuit Partner Platform. This move effectively bridges Intuit's suite of desktop accounting software with applications that run in the cloud.
WooTrader has integrated with the Tradier API. The partnership grants WooTrader users access to a brokerage platform without leaving the WooTrader stock intelligence platform. Traders benefit from a single platform to both make informed decisions and act upon those decisions at the same time.
Google's App Engine product has been available for developers to build upon since last April, and in that time has been free to all, up to certain resource limits. Many have taken advantage of that capability to build thousands of apps including some now in our directory like the iTunes clone The Cloud Player and the Yahoo BOSS search mashup 4hoursearch. But the most common request from App Engine developers has been the ability to go beyond the initial resource limits. As of today, Google has lifted those limits and will let apps scale beyond those early free quotas.
