Twitter announced the Periscope Producer API, which will give third-party apps the ability to authenticate Periscope accounts and let people push live video from just about anywhere. The idea is to make it easier to share video from just about any device and reduce pain points for end users.
Jack Dorsey took to the Twitter Flight 2015 mobile developer conference stage to kick-off the annual event with a massive apology to the developer community. Over the years, Twitter has alienated their developer community. Dorsey's promise will now need to be backed by action.
TigerText, secure mobile messaging platform, announced a $21 million second round of funding. The new funding will be dedicated to growth and further development of the TigerText API. The API focus will concentrate on integration with EHRs, PACs, and laboratory information systems. TigerText CEO, Brad Brooks, believes that secure messaging is moving towards a new era. Instead of a compliance tool, Brooks believes secure messaging will soon be considered a value add.
