The good news is that this is an issue that the people that built programing languages have been aware of for some time. In fact, a significant amount of progress in the form of functional programming languages such as Haskell has already been made.
Amazon has announced the general availability of its Sumerian AWS service, a solution for building virtual reality, augmented reality and 3D applications. According to Amazon, Sumerian requires no special skills to use and is "the fastest and easiest way to create VR, AR, and 3D experiences."
