Tin Can constitutes an "experience API" that enables data collection from a wide range of sources. The API collects data from human interactions with each other, technology, and groups and can standalone or integrate with a learning management system (LMS).
A year after Microsoft introduced OneNote Staff Notebook, Microsoft has opened API access to what is becoming Microsoft's flagship app for educators. Microsoft developed the API in direct response to teachers and school district IT administrators who expressed the need to manage the app at scale.
