As more security vulnerabilities in IT software are discovered and exploited by malicious endeavours, Cisco has released its openVuln API that automates the sharing of security vulnerability information in a move aimed at nurturing an open security automation standard across the industry.
Cameras can capture what the human eye doesn’t always see, but only when they are setup and positioned correctly. One of the biggest challenges in developing an effective video surveillance system is eliminating the gaps in coverage between cameras, otherwise known as blind spots. Vumii, a maker of night vision cameras, has come up with a way to fix the problem. The Atlanta, Ga.-based company has developed a Web app based on the Google Maps API that enables users to asses a site and build a surveillance strategy based on the specific needs of a facility.
