The Decibel C# SDK allows developers to query the Decibel API to return music metadata. Calls to the Decibel API are made through query objects, which take care of all the logic involved in running a REST query, including deserializing the results to handy result objects. These can then be used to integrate Decibel data into an application.
We've added six APIs to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Music, Notifications, and Sports. Also new to the directory are SDKs for Quip document creation service, Resputate reputation service, and Mondo online bank. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.
The Independent Online Distribution Alliance (IODA) has just announced its IODA Open API, currently in beta. The API offers many of the typical resources that you would expect from a music metadata service, with a few extra goodies like these album attributes: UPC code and primary label. Comparing album API results between IODA Open and iTunes, IODA is packing a lot more information into the response.
In this installment of our mashup case study series we speak to Matt Riggott, a developer in Reykjavik, Iceland. He created his music event mashup, Ripped Records, when he lived in Scotland to help him and others discover upcoming concerts. Riggott tells us he believes that showing off this side project to his now-boss "clinched" the job offer and the move to Iceland.
