The Diffbot PHP SDK by Bruno Škvorc allows developers to integrate Diffbot APIs in web content applications using the PHP language. It allows developers to make API calls using PSR-7 and PHP-HTTP friendly client implementations. The SDK currently supports the Diffbot Article, the Diffbot Analyze, the Diffbot Product, the Diffbot Crawl, the Diffbot Search, and the Diffbot Image APIs. Its deployment requires the minimum of PHP 5.6, although PHP 7 is the most recommended version.
Total Transaction Management (TTM), a provider of transaction-oriented middleware, has launched RESTjee API software. RESTjee is designed to streamline creation and implementation of REST APIs for access to virtually any data store. Its ease of use stems from the elimination of server-side code.
While industry analysts expected this year to be the year Mobile Backend-as-a-Service (MBaaS) took off, end-of-year assessments are suggesting that there is still room for further growth in 2014. Forecasters predict a 104% annual growth in the market to reach $7.7 billion in 2017, while this week's acquisition of MBaaS vendor StackMob by PayPal has piqued more than a few businesses' curiosity. Meanwhile, analysts from Forrester and major players like Rich Mendis from AnyPresence believe the MBaaS revolution is still yet to happen for the enterprise.
