Analytics API provider and customer data platform Segment has announced a new API to help businesses comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rules that go into effect next month in Europe. Under the GDPR, Europeans will have more control over and access to their personal data.
Facebook is at the center of another privacy controversy. This time, the most popular Android apps are involved. Almost half of the apps on the Google Play store have the ability to share data with Facebook, and it looks like many of them are sharing automatically (no Facebook account is needed).
Last year Dropbox announced a preview of the new Dropbox API v2. The new version simplified the Dropbox developer experience. In hopes to move toward a more simplified platform, Dropbox also announced deprecation of its Sync and Datastore APIs.
