Google has long been a major proponent of open source initiatives. With an ever-growing participation in open source projects, pinning down Google resources on a particular project can be a challenge. Opensource.google.com will now serve as a single site to curate all things open source at Google.
More than a decade ago, a handful of companies looked to capitalize on the open source movement while at the same time perverting the licensing fundamentals behind it. The threat to open source culture was palpable. But disaster was averted. Today, history is repeating itself and it's time to act.
