The latest version FileMaker adds a mechanism for easily extending the venerable database platform for use with browsers and mobile—without the need for Web programming or app development. Based on our tests, Version 13 of FileMaker is a powerful yet simple tool for designing and publishing custom databases that will suit businesses’ specific data management requirements.
The Federal Register is touted as "The Daily Journal Of The United States Government". Its website, federalregister.gov, allows access to the documents published there, which include proposed rules, final rules, public notices, and Presidential actions. It's a pretty interesting and useful look into what the US Government is doing, and how it might affect your life. Amazingly enough, it has a full-featured API, which is a truly open source project, to allow access to the Federal Register within applications.
Google has released a new API for Fusion Tables, a Google Labs app that allows users to import, integrate, analyze, and visualize data in a variety of ways. The new API allows developers to programmatically perform a variety of tasks, including data import and export (more at our Google Fusion Tables API Profile). The API itself is integrated with several other Google APIs, including the Google Maps API and the Google Visualization API. In fact, developers can also leverage App Engine to easily develop data processing and analysis apps that easily integrate with various other Google APIs.
