eeGeo has released a Points of Interest API that allows developers to submit and manage custom points of interest to be used primarily with the eeGeo example app. The API also allows outdoor POIs to be created and includes search query options such as free text search and category search.
After Facebook announced a versioning strategy last year, it adopted the scheme for its Marketing API. Two versions remain available for the 90-day deprecation period.
At Google I/O 2016, Google announced the Awareness API that would enable apps to use and react to a user's context. Then, the API was available to a limited pool of integration partners. Google has now opened the API to all developers so all apps can leverage context like location and activity.
