With the Gmail Python SDK by Google, developers can access Google APIs including Gmail. Resources aim to simplify API calls, handle auth with fewer lines of code, use the library with Google App Engine, and use standard tools for installation. Additional APIs that interact with this library include Discovery Service, AdExchange Buyer, Books, Cloud Monitoring, and DCM/DFA Reporting And Trafficking APIs.
Twitter has announced that it is delaying the shutdown of legacy APIs as its new Account Activity API is now generally available to all developers. The legacy APIs, namely the Site Streams and User Streams APIs, as well as Direct Message endpoints, were slated to be turned off on June 19.
Social site Tumblr announced that users of the Tumblr API will now have the Neue Post Format (NPF) available to them when consuming or creating posts. NPF is a JSON-based specification that takes post content and breaks it into discreet content blocks, each of which are defined by a type field.
