This Perl SDK provides access to the hooktheory API. The Hooktheory API exposes chord probability data used in TheoryTab Searches. All requests are made over HTTPS, with request and response support for JSON and XML formats. To authenticate to the Hooktheory API, you will need to provide a bearer Token, that follows the OAuth 2 protocol. Hooktheory provides developers with support for the theory behind songs using music theory books, songwriting software, and TheoryTabs.
SEOmoz recently provided an API to their search engine optimization service, and inevitably comparisons were made to Site Explorer, which is a similar service offered by Yahoo. In a field where stats are king, the 500 links offered by the free SEOmoz service seemed to come up short against the 1000 links offered by Site Explorer. That has now changed, with SEOmoz doubling their volume of data available with their free API.
Microsoft has announced that paid plans are now available for the Bing Search APIs that are part of Microsoft Cognitive Services. The suite of Bing Search APIs that can now be purchased includes Bing Web Search API, Bing Image Search API, Bing Video Search API, and Bing News Search API.
100 competitors of the first HACKtivate ED hackathon – held June 14 – 16 in San Francisco, California – made use of education and location APIs and datasets in a race to solve 9 realworld education challenges. APIs used by competitors included the Edmodo API, and several location-based APIs.
