This SDK is a Python library for Hoverfly. Hoverfly was designed to create a dependency sandbox that is a simulated development and test environment. It is a lightweight open source API simulation tool that allows you to create realistic simulations of APIs. The Hoverfly API utilizes GET, PUT, POST and DELETE parameters to get all simulation data, puts the simulation into Hoverfly, appends the simulation, unsets the simulation data and more. Hoverfly is built by SpectoLabs, and they provide API simulations for development and testing.
In earlier eras of software development, programmers quite often had the luxury of using a stable version of a platform or API, because even when vendors updated their apps, OS's, and middleware, the organizations relying on those platforms could implement those upgrades in their own time. But now with online web services, developers often have less control over updates to the API they are using, and unannounced changes to web service APIs are becoming a big problem.
One of the leading HTML5 APIs has finally reached Recommendation Status. The Web Storage API that allows web applications to store data in web clients has reached this status after several years though it has enjoyed support from both desktop and mobile browsers for a long time.
WP Remote, a web application that allows users to service and manage a number of Wordpress-powered sites from one place, has provided the WP RemoteAPI that will allow third parties to integrate with the application, providing opportunity for new and innovative developments. Built as a service that would give back to the Wordpress community and enhance the Wordpress experience, WP Remote is currently free to use and developers are encouraged to use it and test it as they will.
