n0tice is a simple location based public notice board system. It's completely open and unfiltered, and allows users to post any sort of notice they want, tagged with their location, and lets them read notices near them, sorted by distance. Quite a simple little idea, and if it gets a user base, it could end up being quite useful. Although first designed for iPhone, the n0tice API was quickly released to allow integration into other programs, including desktop apps.
MySpace, the social network heavyweight looking to get back some of their old momentum is making a big splash with developers this week. On one hand, they announced an innovative, open platform for real-time stream access and more. But will that be overshadowed by a complete lack of care for the community that built applications on top of Imeem, the music service MySpace acquired and quickly shuttered?
Muvi is a social movie platform where users can access information on movies and celebrities, watch actual trailers and even interact with other users who may have similar movie interests. In addition, users can 'like' a video, see it's popularity, win points and badges and become a fan of a celebrity, engaging with them via tweets. The application supports four languages and provides information on over 100,000 movies and 1 million celebrities from both Hollywood and Bollywood.
