The MapQuest iOS Navigation SDK provides a way to easily add turn by turn navigation within any application. The Navigation SDK is only available in the U.S., so if you would like to use it outside of the U.S. contact MapQuest customer support. Some features include; a sample navigation app, improved destination requests support, multi-stop routes, Language support for US English and US Spanish and more. MapQuest is a location-enabled Geospatial solution that provides tools for mapping items such as reservations, recommendations to routes, reroutes and more.
The Health team at Bing used public data to create a Health Map application (requires Silverlight) that lets users visualize a number of health indicators, such as obesity and premature births, by U.S. county.
Earlier this week Microsoft announced that it is making some of the imagery used in its Virtual Earth platform available for purchase (more on Virtual Earth in our VE SDK profile). The imagery, taken with Microsoft's proprietary UltraCam shown below is available for approximately 200 cities (in high resolution and averaging less than two years old).
Last week Flickr announced a great set of enhancements to their service: geotagging of photos on a map. Once again they've done a nice job in the interface by making it really, really easy. Drag-n-drop them on the map and you're done.
